The Acting Director General of MSG, Peter Eafeare, Her Excellency Catherine Ebert-Grey
US Ambassador to Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu and members of the Executive Management of the Secretariat

The US Ambassador to Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu Her Excellency Catherine Ebert-Grey paid a courtesy call to the MSG Secretariat on Monday 18 September 2017. H.E Ebert-Grey was received by the Acting Director General (ADG) Mr. Peter Eafeare and members of the Executive Management Team, John Licht, John Palmer, Ilan Kiloe and Stanley Wapot.
Following the exchange of pleasantries, the ADG briefly offered condolences of behalf of the MSG Secretariat on the devastation caused by Typhoons IRMA and HARVEY in the USA. This was followed by an overview of the MSG and its history, vision, mission and a brief update by the executive team. .
The Secretariat provided H.E. Ambassador Ebert-Grey with update on the Governance structure, the Staff capacity, Trade & Investment, Sustainable Development and Economic Development, Governance, Political Affairs and Security. The Secretariat also included in their brief discussion a request for Multiple-entry Visa for MSG Secretariat travelling to the US for official engagements.
H.E. Ambassador Ebert-Grey thanked the Acting Director General and the Executive team for sharing the updates on the work of the MSG and assured the Secretariat of United States’ continuing support to the region on areas including security, culture, climate change, peace keeping and gender-empowerment including youth programs. The Ambassador confirmed US support towards the upcoming COP23 and assured the MSG Secretariat of their support to work closely with the Pacific on pertinent issues affecting the livelihoods of their people based on the longstanding mutual relationship between US and the region.
H.E Ebert-Grey also invited the MSG Secretariat to check out their website for details on their current work programs and the type of support they offer to the region.
